Where to begin?

How do I start one of these things?

Sitting here in front of my laptop, eager to embark upon this new journey, I find that I am a bit stumped as to where to begin things. Before I decided to finally take this blog leap in July, ideas and inspiration had flashed before my eyes and through my mind for months. However, now, I do not know how to begin to do the most basic part of a blog (the writing).

I think of my students. Crying and pleading for help as they try to begin writing journals, essays, and narratives in class.

They feel lost and blank…I know this because it is how I feel now.

I have a new appreciation for their pain.

Poor kiddos.

But that feeling is why I am also starting this blog. How many times have you sat in your classroom feeling lost and blank? Was it because your students did get the day’s lesson? Was it because you weren’t sure how to assess student data? Or maybe you just sat there saying to yourself, “Where do I go from here?”

I have been there. And I’m sure I will be there again one day.

But these same questions and lost feelings are what make this online community of teachers so wonderful! So many times I have felt stuck and just hopped onto Pinterest, found an amazing blog, and found my answers. I have also found encouragement, support, and a growing network of new teacher friends.

I am ready to start contributing to this incredible teacher community and hopefully help other teachers like so many have helped me.

SO. Look for my upcoming series about How To Make a STELLAR First Impression on Your Students! It will be out just in time for the start of the new school year.

By the way, when do you begin school ? Our doors open to students August 10th.
